Now, this is what I really came here to do; hike. All I wanted when we said we were going to begin this lifestyle was to be able to be more active outdoors. Since Georgia is so stiffing most of the year, I never really had the chance to be outdoorsy with my activities. Well, I could have, but who wants to hike in 100 degree weather? I know y'all would't do it either.
There weather here has had its warm days, but nothing unmanageable. Even the hottest day wasn't too hot for me and Maddie to go to our favorite park for a nice hour long walk through the trees. We sure do love it here, as I'm sure you'll see from the photos below.
All of the nature shots are from Deerfield Nature Park in Isabella County.
Look at all the sugar on her face!!!
Can you tell she has a good time? She loves to trot along while I walk as fast as I can to keep her going at a sweet pace. I try to bring her here as much as possible, since we have the smallest yard ever and she can never be off leash anymore. It's good for me, too.
The three spots above our some of our favorite we have stumbled upon together on these walks. Every time we're out, I marvel at how pretty and green everything is here. The ferns on the forest floor, the fields of wildflowers, the endless fir trees and so much wildlife. No photos of that, though. Just a few funny stories about Maddie trying to rip my arm off over a rabbit.
We have enjoyed the outdoors since being here. At the time of writing this post, Maddie and I have been here 4 weeks total. It's crazy how much life has changed, but everyday is new and different and that really exciting.
